Before the chemical peel

The dermatologist informs you how to groom your skin in the period before the treatment as well as explains what you can expect in the period after the peeling.
The treatment consists of minimum two sessions, and can be repeated every half a year depending on the state of the skin.

What happens during the chemical peel?

Before the treatment the dermatologist cleans and degreases the skin thoroughly then put the selected peeling material on. Following up the reaction of your skin the doctor decides how long the given material should be left on your face, and then washes it off thoroughly. It can be superficial, medium depth or deep peeling, however this latter can be performed only under general anesthesia and we use it rarely because its risks.

After the chemical peel

The skin reddens right after the treatment but this redness reduces within few days then the skin starts to peel, the intensity of which depends on the skin type. This process requires about 5 days and you should spend these few days home.
You have to come back to the clinic for control on the second week after the peeling where your dermatologist gives you advices what kind of face treatment products you should use in the following days. As it may happen that you need other products instead of the formerly used face cleaners and creams.
