Firm, flat stomach is the pipedream of many people but unfortunately obesity, serial diets, childbirth and abdominal surgeries leave marks on the stomach wall. The skin and the fat underneath sags, the abdominal wall loosens that cannot be corrected even with intense physical exercises. Occasionally the sagged skin on the abdominal wall loosens as an apron, so-called apron tummy takes shape, that may cause not just aesthetical but also functional complaints, spinal complaints, skin diseases on continuous skin surfaces and psychic disturbances.
In these cases the salve is the tummy tuck during which we remove excess tissues and correct the sagged skin and the abdominal muscles.
For whom we recommend
We recommend the tummy tuck for all those where the removal of the excess fat cannot be solved with the liposuction because there is also excess skin as well as hanging tummy evolved due to slimming, childbirth. We can combine tummy tuck with the liposuction if it is needed.
Before the tummy tuck
At the first consultation you can discuss with your doctor what result you expect from the operation and what surgical technique is the most suitable for you (for example for removing excess fat too). The tummy tuck is considered a more serious intervention so the doctor informs you in detail what result and risk you can count with. Cardiovascular disorders, diabetes, varicose, etc. influences the tummy tuck surgery so health examination precedes the intervention for the sake of your health.
What happens during the tummy tuck?
We perform the tummy tuck under general anesthesia in all the cases, the duration of the operation is 2 – 2,5 hours depending on the extent of the intervention. The surgical incision usually goes around the navel and in the arched line connecting the two hips, in the furrow above the mons pubis therefore after the surgery the scar stays in the covering of the bikini. If the area between the vertical abdominal muscles elongated and the abdominal wall loosened during the operation we strengthen it as well so make the abdominal wall tighter. If we observe a ventral an umbilical hernia we treat it too. We close the wound with plastic stitches in more layers then place pressure bandage or a corset on at the end of the operation.
After the tummy tuck
1 – 2 days have to be spent in the clinic after the surgery, it comes to the stitch removal after 3 weeks, but the abdominal corset, which was placed on, has to be worn for 4 – 6 weeks in the interest of the recovery. After the operation – generally after bigger interventions – formation of whey, rarely inflammation, post bleeding may occur, which we stop with appropriate medical techniques.
You have to relax a lot after the intervention, avoid physical strain, sunbathing for 1 month. For keeping the tightness of your tummy later on as well, pay attention to the health nourishment and the enough moving with which you can preclude further weight fluctuations.
